WADAIKO-Japanese Drums・Basara

Japanese(日本語)
Basara is a Japanese drum group in Kyoto.
We began in 1991 and practice every Saturday.

Our name "Basara" comes from "Basara Daisho" . He is one of the twelve guards who protect the Buddha.
At the time of the upheaval in the Kamakura Era, the word  "Basara" meant " dandy and luxurious clothing" or " wild and unrestrained behavior".

We desire to strive against conformity, to play freely, our hearts unrestrained
